Very close to the Youth Hostel is a Migros supermarket, which also has a restaurant and a takeaway. We can definitely recommend it. A meal is between 10 and 14 CHF. Note: Supermarket / restaurant / takeaway have different opening times! And generally you should have in mind that supermarkets in Switzerland have not as extensive opening times such as supermarkets in other European countries.
COOP supermarket and restaurant
COOP supermarché et restaurant
Not far from the tourist information is also a COOP supermarket and restaurant. The lunch menu we found here is not so good (a bit expensive) than in Migros, which is why we preferred for lunch at MIGROSBANK. But the restaurant area of the COOP customers restaurant is quite nicely decorated, so that it is a good place for a coffee break in the afternoon here.
La Croix Federale
Once eat "real" fondue and even "real" hash browns ("Rösti ") ... To visit a restaurant in Switzerland is rather expensive, but if you're already there, you want to eat at least once local dishes, of which you know only the Germanized variant. Rösti = 21 CHF Fondue = 25 CHF 0.3 l beer or Panaché each about 4 CHF
