Hi! I\'m planning my first interrail trip so im pretty new to this and just had a couple of q\'s I couldn\'t find the answer to online (apologies if the answer is obvious). Im from the UK and want the 5 days within 15 pass, and was wondering if its okay to fly out to say Amsterdam/Paris for a few days before starting my pass from then.

Hi and welcome to the forum!
No apologies here, but the answer is Yes, of course this is okay.
When you buy your Interrail you will need to fill in a start date. This date will be printed on your pass. From there on the timer ticks 15 days and you fill in your 5 train travel days.
Buy your pass trough [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] to support our forum and free information without any extra costs!
So, be sure on what date you like to start travelling by train (or build in a safety by putting back the date by 1 day) and have fun!

Thanks for the reply! I will be sure to buy through yourselves. Also, is it okay to start and end your journey at different locations, i.e. not your country of origin?

The in and outbound trip into your country of origin is obviously only available if you travel back home. If you make not use of this feature, yea.. Noting of a problem there.
See it as your free travel pass. It has only some rules like the country of origin but further more.. Travel free throughout Europe.
Let\'s say as an example, I started in the Netherlands, my home country. Travelled towards Stockholm in 3 travel days, and flown back home. So I end my pass in Stockholm, Sweden.
