If you want to travel from Greece to Albania, you have to take a bus. There is no passenger railway connection available between Greece and Albania.

There are direct buses on the route from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Tirana (Albania). Thessaloniki is connected to the railway network of Greece and as well to international destinations.

GR Grecia - BG Bulgaria

If you want to travel from Greece to Bulgaria by train, buy your train ticket locally at the train station in Thessaloniki. There are no online tickets available.

There are two rail connections between Greece and Bulgaria, however only the line from Thessaloniki to Sofia via the Strimon/Kulata border crossing is open at the moment.

GR Grecia - IT Italia

Per viaggiare dalla Grecia all‘Italia, è necessario prendere i traghetti della Minoan Lines o della Superfast Ferries, che partono da Patrasso attraverso Igoumenitsa fino a Bari, Ancona, Venezia e Trieste. Tutti i porti per traghetti, a eccezione di Igoumenitsa, hanno collegamenti ferroviari. Patrasso si trova nella regione del Peloponneso e ha un collegamento ferroviario da Atene, ma attualmente è attivo un servizio autobus sostitutivo nell‘ultima parte della linea tra Kiato e Patrasso. Igoumenitsa si trova nel nord della Grecia e prevede collegamenti autobus da Kalambaka e Salonicco. Da Bari e Ancona troverai collegamenti ferroviari frequenti lungo la Costa Adriatica e in tutta l‘Italia verso città come Roma, Napoli, Firenze, Bologna e Milano.

GR Grecia - MK Macedonia

Buy your train tickets from Greece to Macedonia locally at a station. There is only one railway line across the border, running from Thessaloniki to Skopje. The night train from Thessaloniki via Skopje to Belgrade is the only train running across the border.

An alternative way to travel between the two countries is to travel by train to Florina, then cross the border with a taxi and continue from Bitola in Macedonia by train to Skopje.

If you want to travel from Greece to Serbia by train, buy your train ticket locally at a train station in Greece.

There is one direct night train available from Thessaloniki (Greece) via Skopje (Macedonia) to Belgrade (Serbia). If this night train does not run, you have to travel from Thessaloniki (Greece) via Sofia (Bulgaria) to Belgrade (Serbia).

GR Grecia - TR Turchia

To travel from Greece to Turkey, you have to use a bus. There is no direct train anymore. A train connection could be via Sofia (Bulgaria), but takes a lot more of time than by bus.
There are several direct (overnight) bus connections available from the bigger Greek cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, ...) to Istanbul (Turkey). Have a look at the links.

Athens = Atina
Thessaloniki = Selanik
