Information for Interrail, Eurail and travellers with normal train tickets on the Sud-Express route. Coming from Paris (France) via Irun (Spain) to Lisbon (Portugal).
The [b]night train Sud-Express[/b] serves the route Irun (French-Spanish border) to Lisbon (Portugal). To Irun you have direct access by French high-speed-train TGV. In the summer months buy your reservation or point to point ticket for the night train some days in advance.

[b]With Spanish InterRail Pass[/b]: Persons with residency in Spain (= Spanish InterRail Pass) will have to pay this special fare. Much better than to pay the full fare as you can not travel for free in your country of residence.
Travellers with country of residence [b]PORTUGAL[/b] will have to pay for the trip [b]Vilar Formoso to Lisbon[/b], the border station between Portugal and Spain. There is a 50% discount on this ticket, so one way is about EUR 10. Plus of course the additional required seat/bed reservation mentioned here as with IR.

At high season it is recommended to buy a reservation in advance! Reservations are available at big stations in France, Spain or Portugal.
Please pay attention to theft, especially in the part of Portugal. Lock the doors, maybe fix your bag by a simple bicycle locker somewhere on your seat. The staff in the train is helpful. Don\\\'t be panic about this, but I have to mention it.
The direct night train without changes from Lisbon to Paris doesn\\\'t exists any more!
