Hello all. Please Help!!

I'm brand new to interrailing and im woefully confused! I've gone through route planner finding trains from Rome to Istanbul. When searching for each train I hit Without HST/trains with surcharge. Does this mean that all the train routes I found do not have any nasty hidden costs involved or could they still involve supplements that I have to pay on top of the price for my interrail ticket?

Also, I know that some of the train routes need reservations. How do I find out exactly how much each reservation costs?

Any info would be really appreciated. Thanx!

Hi!

If you have selected without HST/trains with surcharge then all trains should be without additional supplements - however, to be sure you can post your selected route here so we could check it. :)

For supplements have a look here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

Thanks very much! My route actually includes alot of stops, 12 cities to be exact. I'll give u a random section of the trip and if u cud check that and it turns out that there are no hidden costs besides reservations then I'll trust that my search was ok.

GOing from Budapest to Podgorica i'll be taking the D343 to Belgrade at 10:15am on the 3rd of June. Then i'll take the D435 from Belgrade to Podgorica at 10:10pm.

One other quick query. It looks like i'll have 13 euro a day to spend for 31 days. Do you think this is possible or would it be wiser to make the trip shorter so that i'll have more money to do stuff along the way?

Thanks again!!!

If that doesnt include accomodation then it should be doable in eastern europe. You can eat out (well) for around €5/6 in parts of Bulgaria/Montenegro. Is there any reason you are going to Podgorica? Its not very nice... Get on a bus and go to Kotor!

6 euro for a meal?! Thanks, thats reinstilled some confidence in me!! The last thing I was wondering is how can i find out how much it costs to reserve tickets on trains. Is it always the same or does it depend on the particular route??

CHeers!!

Most of the suppliment/reservation costs are shown in the specific country forums. It varys a lot between eastern/western europe. Note that it has been 2 years since I went to Bulgaria and Montenegro, so prices might have gone up a bit, and are definately a bit more by the coast where it is more touristy
