Hi,

Krakow will be my starting point and I\'ve been planning on travelling to Budapest with a night train. I\'ve understood that they are really popular so I\'m wondering whether it is possible to make the reservation in advance? If not what do you think are the chances that I\'m able to board the train at all? I\'ll be travelling alone. Also does the 7pm rule apply to this case or is it count as two travel days since it\'s my first travel day?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi and welcome to railcc!

You can check for reservations at [ux]https://rail.shop/polrail/[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/[/ux] however service charges will apply. Another option would be to use the reservation service of [ux]https://rail.shop/interraileu/[/ux] - services charges apply here, too.

Another option would be to buy a reservation at a ticket office at a station - either in Krakow (which can be risky in peak season two days in advance) or in many other countries in Europe - where do you stay before going to Krakow?

The 1900 rule applies; your Interrail pass has to be valid on the day of departure, but it is enough to enter the next day (arrival in Budapest) as your first travel day. :)
