Ankara Citadel / Άγκυρα

Stated in the Old City of Ankara, the capital of Republic of Turkey, Ankara Citadel is one the few elements that make a visit to the city worthwhile.
While the exact date of construction remains unknown, this building is known to be the oldest part of Ankara. Founding bases of the structure are attributed to the Galatians and the rest was completed by the Romans. Inside the area bordered by the outer castle lies one of the earliest residential zones which is still functioning. Observation towers of this wall also provide a sightseeing of the city.
With many traditional restaurants, antique dealers, carpet sellers, and many foundations that serve to keep struggling Turkish traditions alive, Ankara Citadel Area constitutes the other side of the industrial city of Ankara.
