Was wondering if you could tell us what options we have to get from Florence to Zurich? High Speed and regular trains?

Is there more than one train stations in Florence to catch the train to Milan?

Thanks
Karen

Hi Karen.

To travel from Florence to Zurich, the journey time is about 6 hours, but really depends on the connection.
There is one fast connection in the morning leaving at 07:30h, arriving in Zurich at 12:51h (depends on your travel date).
Usually you have one change in Milan.

To buy tickets for Florence to Zurich online, have a look here [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] to find the cheapest offers - and of course all schedules.

In Florence you have several train stations: https://rail.cc/en/florence/station/c
The main one from which most long distance trains leave is Firenze Santa Maria Novella: https://rail.cc/en/florence/florence-santa-maria-novella-railway-station/l323

Enjoy your trip, Pete :)

Oh I see: if you travel by an Eurail pass, it depends... do you want to save on reservation fees or travel as fast as possible.
For the morning connection you have a high-speed-train from Florence to Milan with reservation: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-train-reservation/frecciarossa/50
Followed by the EC train from Milan to Zurich: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-train-reservation/eurocity-sbb-italia/65
