Hello, I was just wondering if there were places in European train stations to store luggage whilst I am off sightseeing? And roughly how much is it for a day?

That depends. What countries do you plan to visit ?
Generally there are luggage lockers at main stations. Some are free-access. In some others, luggage is scanned thus you cannot access the lockers early or at night (France).
Price is generally some euros per day, depending of the size of your locker.

here you will find lockers at every big station.
at the really big ones, it is expensive. so sometimes (for example Berlin) it is cheaper to go to a smaller station without personal service - only with machines. :)
