Hey, I'm travelling on my own this summer - in some cities, I have people to stay with but I'm thinking that hostels are a good idea otherwise. Where can I find good ones? Should I join HI or something? *very confused*

last year I stayed in independent hostels all the time, and booked them on the internet using [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] . Usually you can find a decent one a couple of days before you plan to arrive, and that way you have a guaranteed room. The sites are quite good as you can read other people reviews of them to see what it is really like.
