Hello everyone,
Do any of you know what would be the safest, fastest, and best way to get to Bucharest from Paris by train? My family and I are American citizens and I see there are some rules related to non-european citizens when it comes to trains and travelling. I have been trying to figure out the best way to travel and I am very confused when it comes to all the trains etc. My husband and I have a 4 year old boy and we want it to make the trip as comfortable for him as possible. Thanks! Any tips are appreciated!

Hi Madi!

Since you have a fixed route and probably already know your exact travel days I think that you will be best off with buying regular tickets - if you buy in advance you can often get quite cheap offers, however with reduced exchange and refund possibilities.

You will have to buy several tickets for the trip and I would recommend to calculate with enough time at each stop where you will start with a new ticket in order to cope for delays.

A possible trip could look like this:

Paris - Munich overnight: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/paris-munich-cnl40451/32

Munich - Vienna during the day: https://rail.cc/en/search-train-route/munich-vienna/germany-austria/108

Vienna - Bucharest overnight: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/vienna-bucharest-en-347/50

An alternative would be to travel Munich - Budapest during the day and then take a Budapest - Bucharest night train.

Depending on how much time in advance you want to book you also might look into the Eurail pass offers: https://rail.cc/en/eurail
