Hi, I am going interrailing this summer for the first time and have a tiny query...

I will be travelling from Sofia to Belgrade in May, has anyone else done this route? I was wondering whether it was advisable to have a stop off half way (maybe in Nis? Has anyone been there?) rather than take the night train which will get into Belgrade at around 4am?

Also, I looked on the German train website where all European trains can be booked but there is no option of do you have an interrail ticket? so should I book this at the station in Sofia when I am there?

Thank you!

Hey Vixie ... :)

There is a day train which also stops in Nis ... it starts at around 12:40h in Sofia and you arrive at 20:00h in the evening at Belgrade.

Do your reservation at a train station in Bulgaria (the cheapest way) ... but you do not really need a reservation using the day train ...! :)

Have fun,
Peter
