So the coming month I will be travelling the Balkan region with my Interrail pass, however I only just found out that I actually need to make extra reservations for two of the trains I want to take, namely the night train from Zagreb to Belgrade and the one from Bar to Subotica. I was wondering whether these two routes usually sell out way in advance or if I\'d be fine making the reservations for these two trains at the train station on the day of departure itself.

Thanks in advance for the answer!

Hi and welcome to railcc!

Seat reservation for these night trains are not compulsory, however I would still recommend to get one. During the summer both trains are popular with Interrailers as well as tourists heading to/from the beaches of Montenegro.

If possible I would recommend to get your reservation a few days in advance; you can make reservations for Zagreb - Belgrade at the international ticket desks of any larger train station; for Bar - Subotica you have to buy it either at a station in Serbia or Montenegro; you can also contact ZPCG (Railways of Montenegro) and they make a reservation for you which you then pick up at a station: [ux]https://rail.shop/zpcg[/ux]
