Hi Guys,
I want to travel from Interlaken OST to Paris via Eurail pass. Basis my understanding, the route will be via Basel. However, I am not able to figure out the best way to go for it. Will the whole journey be free/covered under Eurail pass? If not, then how much will I be charged and for which part of the journey (Interlaken to Basel and Basel to Paris)? Any help on this will be appreciated

Hi!

The fastest option indeed is to travel from Interlaken Ost to Basel. At Basel SBB (the central station) you can change to a TGV Lyria service to Paris Gare de Lyon. There are frequent connections from Interlaken to Basel (every 30 minutes); from Basel to Paris you will find a TGV Lyria about every two hours.

You will need a seat reservation for the TGV Lyria, unfortunately the reservations are quite pricey: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-train-reservation/tgv-lyria/162

I do not know of a possibility to buy the reservation online.
If you want, you can travel a bit differently, taking a regional train from Basel to Mulhouse and catch a domestic TGV service from Mulhouse to Paris. Domestic TGV reservations are available online at [ux]rail.shop/sncf/reservation[/ux]

If you want to support our site and the free information we provide, please book your Eurail pass through our affiliate link at no extra costs for you: [ux]http://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] :)
Make sure to use this link right before you book. If you buy through this link you can make use of the Eurail.com reservation service and order your reservation Basel - Paris from them. However, they will charge a service fee and you will need to book the reservation in advance.

If you have more questions, please ask. :)
