I’m a bit confused and need some advice or clarification. I was looking at the Glacier Express site and they mentioned if in Canada to go through rail europe.com to buy our rail passes. Was looking at either a three or four country pass with 8 days in a 2 month period. When looking at the railcc site there is a Globall Pass for 7 days in a 1 month period. If I’m reading corr tly the Global Pass allows one to go into 28 different countries. So is this basically two different companies offering different passes? Is there a discount if there is two or more people in a group?

Hello Greatcurler and welcome to rail.cc

What is your planed route. Then I could tell you the best option.
If you want to travel several countries, the Eurail pass is the best choice: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/eurail[/ux]
Also travelling trough Switzerland.
An Eurail pass is an Eurail pass and everywhere the same. Maybe you saw as well the Swiss Travel Pass: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/swiss-travel-pass[/ux]

To start planing, check our blog here: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/[/ux]

Hi Pete

Thanks for your response. Our route!!!! There goes. We need to get from Florence to Zurich on Aug. 31st. What are our options? We are meeting our friends in Zurich on the 1st of September. On the 2nd we head to Lucerne for two days. Head to Interlaken for 2 days. We are planning to stay close to Mount Pilatus so wondering if it would be better not to use our pass that day and pay for the transportation. From Interlaken we are heading to Brig to catch the Glacier Express to St. Moritz. Catching the train back to Zurich on the 6th. Was contemplating either the train to Zagreb,Croata or flying. My friend wants to take a High Speed train so was wondering if there is a High Speed train into Austria and then we could continue onto Zagreb. WOW lots for you to think about!

Hi Greatcurler,

That sounds like a nice trip! There aren\'t any high speed trains available in the west-east corridor trough the Alps. I can recommend taking the RailJet from ÖBB (Zurich - Feldkirch - Innsbruck - Wien) what is the fastest route trough the Alps.

From Alpnachstadt (startpoint of Mount Pilatus cablecar) - Luzern is a 18 min train ride for 4,80 CHF. I don\'t think this will exceed your daily price (Eurail pass price/days).

Don\'t forget your reservation for the Glacier Express. This is obligated.

Have fun in Switzerland :)!

From my last post was wondering if the Railjet from Zurich to Wien is a High Speed train? Where is Wien and can we get to Zagreb from there? If so, how long is that train from Zurich to Zagreb?

Do you think it’s worth a rail pass if we are going from Zurich to Lucerne, Lucerne to Interlaken, interlaken to Brig to catch the Glacier express and then from St.Moritz to Zurich or should we be buying some train passes for some of these legs and a railpass for other parts of the legs?

Also what options do we have to get from Florence to Zurich?

Thanks really appreciate your expertise and help with this as it’s quite mind bugling!!!!!
