To travel by train from Vigo in Spain to Porto in Portugal, you have three options. Choose the best one for you. First one by night train from Madrid or Irun to Lisbon. Second one in the North from Vigo to Porto. And third one by bus in the South from Seville to Faro.

1B Travelling from Madrid (Spain) to Lisbon (Portugal)
Tickets are available online via our partner ACP Rail or directly from RENFE. International tickets from Spain to Portugal are not available directly from CP (Portuguese Railways).

There are only two rail links between the two countries: the night trains from Madrid and Irun to Lisbon and the Celta trains in the north from Vigo to Porto. There is no rail connection in the south, when travelling between Sevilla and Faro we recommend to take the direct bus instead.

2B Travelling from Seville (Spain) to Faro (Portugal)
To travel from Sevilla (Spain) to Faro (Portugal) you have to use a bus. There is no direct train available.
If you want to use a train, you first have to go up to Madrid (Spain). From Madrid by night train to Lisbon (Portugal). Then from Lisbon to Faro by day train.

Tickets are available online via our partner ACP Rail or directly from RENFE. International tickets from Spain to Portugal are not available directly from CP (Portuguese Railways).
