To travel from Vienna to Zurich by train, use one of the direct Railjet trains or the nightjet night train. There are at least four direct Railjet trains daily. The journey time is about 7:50 hours. Train tickets are available from 39 Euro, called "Sparschiene" (=saver price).
The direct nightjet train is a comfortable service to travel overnight and to save the costs for a hotel.
