1a Travelling from Frankfurt am Main (Germany) to Gothenburg (Sweden)

Tickets to selected destinations in Sweden are available from DB (German Railways) directly via our partner link.

The "Sparpreis Europa" saver fares are available to cities such as Göteborg, Stockholm and Malmö. They always include transit through Denmark using either DB IC Buses or EC trains. From Copenhagen to Sweden, tickets are only available for travel with either SJ high speed trains (designated as "X2" when booking) or the Oresund regional trains. It is not possible to book a ticket valid on both types of trains!

If you want to travel with the Berlin - Malmö night train in the summer you have to book it separately too from the operator "Snalltaget".

[b]How to buy tickets:[/b]

- buy a saver fare ticket via the Deutsche Bahn booking link from Germany to Sweden. These saver fares are available for example to Malmö, Göteborg or Stockholm.

- if it is not possible to book the whole trip in one ticket via the Deutsche Bahn link, split it into two bookings:
First ticket from Germany to Malmö, Göteborg or Stockholm via the booking link of Deutsche Bahn.
Second ticket from Malmö, Göteborg or Stockholm to your destination in Sweden via the ACPRail/SJ booking link.

2a Travelling from Frankfurt am Main (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

To travel from Germany to Denmark by train, use one of the daily connections which usually runs via Hamburg. Please use the following booking links to find schedules and ticket prices. The "Europe Special" price of Deutsche Bahn is available from EUR 39. As earlier you book, as cheaper the prices are.

If you want to include a night train, there is currently only one option left: first by night train from Berlin (Germany) to Malmö (Sweden) and then to Copenhagen (Denmark). This night train does not run daily! In the summer months there is one IC train travelling overnight from Hamburg (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark).

2b Travelling from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Gothenburg (Sweden)

To travel by train from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Göteborg (Sweden), you currently have train connections with at least one change. Either at Kastrup Airport (Denmark) or in Malmö (Sweden).

During the day you have a good connection at least every two hours. The journey time depends on the connection and is between three and four hours. Ticket prices start from around EUR 40 one-way for an adult.

3a Travelling from Frankfurt am Main (Germany) to Hamburg (Germany)

To travel in Germany by train, buy your ticket via the following booking link to Deutsche Bahn (German railways). There you find schedules and ticket prices. Deutsche Bahn offers discount fares called "Sparpreis". Book early to get inexpensive train tickets. In Germany you travel the long distances by ICE high-speed trains.

3b Travelling from Hamburg (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

To travel from Hamburg to Copenhagen by train, the best connection is by direct train which includes a ferry crossing from Puttgarden (Germany) to Røby (Denmark). The journey time is about five hours. Saver prices are available from Euro 29. There is a minimum of three direct train connections per day between both cities.
On the ferry you have to leave the train. Your luggage stays in the train, while you spent the one hour crossing on deck with a nice view - or inside to drink a coffee.

Beside the route above there are connections with changes via Flensburg and Fredericia. Tickets are also available from Euro 29.

3c Travelling from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Stockholm (Sweden)

To travel from Copenhagen to Stockholm by train, you have frequent direct SJ X2000 trains - at least every two hours. The journey time is about 5:15 hours. More connections are available with change in Malmö including an Öresundståg on the first part. Saver train tickets starts from 20 Euro. The ticket price depends on your travel date and train connection.
There is even the option to use a night train: first by Öresundståg from Copenhagen via the Öresund Bridge to Malmö. There you change to the SJ night train NT2 from Malmö to Stockholm.

3d Travelling from Stockholm (Sweden) to Gothenburg (Sweden)

To travel in Sweden by train, please buy your ticket via one of the following booking links. There you find exact schedules and ticket prices. If you book early in advance, you will get attractive discount prices. Beside the Swedish state railway SJ, several operators are available. It is usually no problem to buy your ticket in one step even using different operators. For long-distance travel, use one of the comfortable night train connections.
