1a Travelling from Bayonne (France) to Hamburg (Germany)

To travel from France to Germany by train, use a route either via Paris/Lille to Cologne by Thalys train. Or from Paris via Strasbourg/Saarbrücken to Frankfurt or Stuttgart by TGV/ICE. There is also a direct train from Marseille in direction of Frankfurt. Please use the given booking links to find schedules and ticket prices. If you want to use a night train, have a look at the Russian night train Paris to Moscow (exit in Berlin). A very nice experience and high quality, but does not run daily!

1b Travelling from Hamburg (Germany) to Stockholm (Sweden)

Travel from Hamburg to Stockholm by train. The journey time is 10 hours. The train ticket price starts at 49 EUR. You have two travel options:

1) From Hamburg to Stockholm by Snälltåget overnight train. The journey time is 17 hours. The departure time in Hamburg is 21:30. The arrival time in Stockholm is 14:30. The train offers the following service classes:
- standard seat from 49 EUR.
- reclining seat: a wider seat with less travellers in the wagon. The ticket price starts from 74 EUR.
- bed in a private compartment.

2) By a day train connection with change in Copenhagen. The German railways Deutsche Bahn offers discount price tickets from 56 EUR. The journey time is 10 hours. You travel as follows:
- from Hamburg to Copenhagen by Intercity/Eurocity train. The journey time is 4:30 hours.
- from Copenhagen to Stockholm by X2000 Snabbtåg high-speed-train. The journey time is 5:15 hours.

2b Travelling from Hamburg (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

Travel from Hamburg to Copenhagen by direct IC train. The journey time is 4:40 hours. Train tickets are available from EUR 29. There are at least three direct connections daily.

Departure of the direct trains in Hamburg ("Hamburg Hbf") at 08:53, 12:53 and 16:53.
Arrival in Copenahgen ("Koebenhavn H") at 13:33, 17:33 and 21:33.

2c Travelling from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Stockholm (Sweden)

To travel from Copenhagen to Stockholm by train, you have frequent direct SJ X2000/Snabbtåg trains - at least every two hours. The journey time is about five hours. More connections are available with change in Malmö including an Öresundståg on the first part.

There is even the option to use a night train: first by Öresundståg from Copenhagen via the Öresund Bridge to Malmö. There you change to the SJ night train NT2 from Malmö to Stockholm.
