To travel by train from the Netherlands to Russia you can either include one long distance night train if you travel from the Netherlands to Paris (direct Thalys train). There you get into the night train Paris to Moscow. Or you travel step by step from the Netherlands via Germany, Poland to Russia.

1A Travelling from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Paris (France)
To travel by train from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Paris (France), the fastest and easiest way is by direct Thalys high-speed-train. The Thalys runs via Brussels at a top speed of 300 km/h.

Ticket prices starts from EUR 35 one-way per adult. Please use the given booking links to find schedules and ticket prices. Sometimes special offers are promoted. As earlier you book, as cheaper the ticket prices are.

The journey time is about 03:15h. The Thalys train runs ten times and more per day between Amsterdam and Paris.

1B Travelling from Paris (France) to Moscow (Russia)
There are two direct long-distance night train connecting France with Russia. One train from Paris via Strasbourg and Germany to Moscow and a second one from Nice via Italy and Austria to Moscow. They do not run daily.

To buy train tickets from the Netherlands to Germany, compare the booking links we give. Prices are usually the same, but sometimes vary slightly.

Depending on where you start in the Netherlands (and where you want to travel to in Germany), you can either use the route from Amsterdam via Utrecht to Cologne and Frankfurt direct by ICE train Or from Amsterdam by direct IC train right to the East to Berlin.
