To travel by train from Älvho in Sweden to Eisenstadt in Austria, first you travel from you departure station in Sweden, via Malmö to Copenhagen. From Copenhagen you continue to Hamburg or Berlin (Germany). Now you can continue by night train: from Hamburg to Innsbruck or Vienna, from Berlin to Vienna.

1a Travelling from Älvho (Sweden) to Hamburg (Germany)

Tickets from selected destinations in Sweden to Germany are available from DB (German Railways) directly via our partner link.

The "Sparpreis Europa" saver fares are available from cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö. They always include transit through Denmark using either DB IC Buses or EC trains. From Sweden to Copenhagen, tickets are only available for travel with either SJ high speed trains (designated as "X2" when booking) or the Oresund regional trains. It is not possible to book a ticket valid on both types of trains!

If you want to travel with the Malmö - Berlin night train in the summer you have to book it separately too from the operator "Snalltaget".

- buy a saver fare ticket via the Deutsche Bahn booking link from Sweden to Germany. These saver fares are available for example from Stockholm, Göteborg or Malmö.

- if it is not possible to book the whole trip in one ticket via the Deutsche Bahn link, split it into two bookings:
First ticket from your departure station in Sweden to Stockholm, Göteborg or Malmö via the booking link of ACPRail/SJ.
Second ticket from Stockholm, Göteborg or Malmö to Germany via the Deutsche Bahn booking link.

1b Travelling from Hamburg (Germany) to Eisenstadt (Austria)

The train journey from Germany to Austria is inexpensive with many daily ICE and Railjet connections. There are saver fares ("Sparpreis Europa") available from Deutsche Bahn from 18 EUR.

On longer distances we recommend a Nightjet night train. These offer you comfortable overnight travel in a seating, couchette or sleeping car. Tickets for the Nightjet start from 29 EUR. In the sleeping car from as little as 69 EUR.

2a Travelling from Älvho (Sweden) to Copenhagen (Denmark)

To buy a train ticket from Sweden to Denmark, have a look at the booking links. Depending on where you start in Sweden, you first have to buy a ticket from your starting place in Sweden to Copenhagen (Denmark) via SJ. From Copenhagen, buy a train ticket via DSB to your destination place in Denmark.
If there is no booking option from your departure place in Sweden to Copenhagen, book to Malmö, the last stop in Sweden. From Malmö take a train via the Öresund Bridge (train runs every 20 minutes) to Copenhagen, from where you continue.

From Copenhagen you have frequent train connections to every place in Denmark.

2b Travelling from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Hamburg (Germany)

To travel from Copenhagen to Hamburg by train, the best connection is by direct IC train. The trains which includes a ferry crossing from Røby (Denmark) to Puttgarden (Germany) does not run anymore.

The journey time is about 5:30 hours. Saver fares are available from Euro 29. There is a minimum of three direct train connections per day between both cities.

Beside the direct trains, you have connections with change in Fredericia. Train tickets are also available from Euro 29.
