Sweden - Germany

Deutsche Bahn offers train tickets from selected destinations in Sweden to Germany, called "Sparpreis Europa". The ticket fare starts at 37 EUR.

These train tickets are available from cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm and Malmö to Germany. They always include transit through Denmark on InterCity, EuroCity and ICE trains. From Sweden to Copenhagen, tickets are only available for travel on SJ high-speed trains (marked "X2000" when booking) or Öresundståg trains.

Sweden - Denmark

To buy a train ticket from Sweden to Denmark, have a look at the booking links. Depending on where you start in Sweden, you first have to buy one ticket from your starting place in Sweden to Copenhagen (Denmark). From Copenhagen, buy a second train ticket to your destination place in Denmark.

If there is no booking option from your departure place in Sweden to Copenhagen, book to Malmö, the last stop in Sweden. From Malmö take a train via the Öresund Bridge (train runs every 20 minutes) to Copenhagen, from where you continue.

From Copenhagen you have frequent train connections to every place in Denmark.

Sweden - Estonia

Travel from Sweden to Estonia and make use of the ferry on the route from Stockholm to Tallinn. You have to buy three tickets for this route.

1) From your departure railway station to Stockholm.

2) From Stockholm to Tallinn by ferry. The journey time is about 16 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 89 EUR. The ferry runs daily.

3) From Tallinn to your final travel destination in Estonia.

Sweden - Finland

To travel from Sweden to Finland, you have two main routes:

1) in the South by ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki or Turku. Ferry ticket prices from 12 EUR. Ferry journey time is about 11 hours.

2) in the North by bus from Lulea (Sweden) to Kemi (Finland). Bus ticket price from 25 EUR. Journey time for the bus is 3 hours.

There are good train connections available to Stockholm, Lulea (Sweden) and from Helsinki, Kemi, Turku (Finland) onwards. Both countries offer an excellent night train network.

Sweden - Latvia

To travel from Sweden to Latvia include the ferry on the route from Stockholm to Riga. You have to buy three tickets.

1) From your departure station to Stockholm.

2) From Stockholm to Riga by ferry. The journey times is 16 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 59 EUR. The ferry runs daily.

3) From Riga to your final travel destination in Latvia.

Sweden - Norway

To travel from Sweden to Norway by train, there are three main routes available. In the south from Gothenburg (Sweden) in direction of Oslo (Norway). In the middle from Östersund (Sweden) to Trondheim (Norway). And in the north from Stockholm or Lulea (Sweden) via Kiruna and Abisko (Sweden) to Narvik (Norway).

Both countries offer very good night train connections to travel long-distance. The railway network in the North of Norway is not connected between Narvik and Fauske/Bodø. You have to take the bus for this part.

Sweden - Poland

To travel the direct way from Sweden to Poland, make use of a ferry. There are two main travel routes available.

A) Stockholm/Nynäshamn to Gdansk
Travel by train to Stockholm. Use a direct suburban train from Stockholm main railway station to Nynäshamn (1:15 hours, 3 EUR). From Nynäshamn (Sweden) continue by ferry to Gdansk (Poland). The journey time of the ferry is 18 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 69 EUR.

B) Ystad to Świnoujście
Travel by train to Ystad. In Ystad, have a short walk from the railway station to the ferry terminal. From Ystad (Sweden) continue by ferry to Świnoujście (Poland). The journey time of the ferry is 5:30 hours. Ferry tickets are available from 34 EUR.

Continue by train from Gdansk or Świnoujście to your final travel destination in Poland.

You need three tickets in total.

1) One train ticket from your departure railway station to Stockholm or Ystad.

2) One ferry ticket from Sweden to Poland.

3) One train ticket from the ferry port to your final travel destination.
