Germany: Travel in Germany by train at the super saver price ("Super-Sparpreis") from EUR 17.50. This ticket price applies to journeys on long-distance trains (ICE, Intercity, Eurocity) and local trains (RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn) following or as a feeder.

On short distance connections, it is often only possible to purchase a ticket from the local public transport company. This usually works very conveniently via the Deutsche Bahn app.

DE Germany - AT Austria

The train journey from Germany to Austria is inexpensive with many daily ICE and Railjet connections. There are saver fares ("Sparpreis Europa") available from Deutsche Bahn from 18 EUR.

On longer distances we recommend a Nightjet night train. These offer you comfortable overnight travel in a seating, couchette or sleeping car. Tickets for the Nightjet start from 29 EUR. In the sleeping car from as little as 69 EUR.
There are night train connections from Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt to Salzburg, Linz, Innsbruck and Vienna.

DE Germany - BE Belgium

To travel by train from Germany to Belgium, use the high-speed trains ICE or Thalys. They connect the cities of Frankfurt and Cologne with Liège and Brussels. These cities are well connected with other regions of their country.

DE Germany - CH Switzerland

Up to 40 direct train connections run daily from Germany to Switzerland. Trains travel on the lines from Hamburg, Frankfurt or Stuttgart to Basel, Zurich, Bern, Interlaken and Chur.

Buy cheap train tickets from Deutsche Bahn. Tickets "Super Sparpreis Europa" cost from 19 EUR. Since single trip train tickets in Switzerland can be quite expensive, the Deutsche Bahn offer is thus extremely attractive.

DE Germany - CZ Czech Republic

To travel from Germany to the Czech Republic, buy your tickets via the given booking links. There you find all ticket prices and train schedules.

For long distance trains buy saver fare tickets early in advance. If you travel by regional train across the border you can also buy special offers for the border regions locally at ticket machines.

German railways Deutsche Bahn also offers the Intercity-Bus from Mannheim/Nuremberg and Munich to Prague.

DE Germany - DK Denmark

To travel from Germany to Denmark by train, use one of the daily connections which usually runs via Hamburg.

If you want to include a night train, there is currently only one option left: in the summer months there is one IC train travelling overnight from Hamburg (Germany) to Copenhagen (Denmark).

In 2021 a new night-train-line will run from Berlin via Hamburg and Copenhagen to Stockholm.

To travel by train from Germany to Spain, the main route leads trough France to Barcelona and on to your final travel destination in Spain.

Either buy one train ticket from Germany to Spain via the given booking links. Or you split the booking into two tickets: Germany to France (Paris) and France (Paris) to Spain (Barcelona). Maybe you need another ticket for travelling inside Spain, but this finally depends on your route.

Train tickets from Germany to Zagreb and other selected railway stations in Croatia are available from Deutsche Bahn (German railways).

These saver fare tickets "Sparpreis Europa" are available from 39 EUR. If you travel to cities in Croatia where no saver fare ticket is available to buy on Internet, buy a train ticket until the last possible railway station. From there buy a ticket of Croatian railways to your final travel destination.

The Munich to Zagreb night train is a comfortable travel option.

Train tickets from Germany to Budapest and selected other cities in Hungary are available from Deutsche Bahn (German railways) via the given booking links. There you also find the train schedules.

DE Germany - IT Italy

To travel by train from Germany to Italy you have two main travel routes. The western route on the line Frankfurt-Basel-Milan. And the eastern route Munich-Verona.

German railways "Deutsche Bahn" offers special fare tickets called "Sparpreis Europa" to selected destinations in Italy starting from 19 EUR.

DE Germany - RU Russia

Two direct night trains connect Germany with Russia. These run on the section from Berlin to Moscow with a travel time of 24 hours and ticket prices starting from 160 EUR. To Berlin and from Moscow you have very good train connections for your onward journey.

Three times a week you can travel on these direct train connections. An overnight train comes from Paris (Trans-Europe Express) with stops in Frankfurt and Berlin. From Berlin there is a direct train Strizh. Optionally, you can also travel via Kiev (Ukraine) to Russia, bypassing Belarus.

Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) offers tickets to selected destinations in Sweden to saver fares called "Sparpreis Europa". The ticket price starts from EUR 37.

These train tickets are available from Germany to cities such as Göteborg, Stockholm and Malmö. They always include transit through Denmark using InterCity, EuroCity and ICE trains. From Copenhagen to Sweden, tickets are only available for travel with either SJ high-speed-trains (designated as "X2000" when booking) or the Öresundståg trains.
