TH Thailand - MY Malaysia

Travel from Thailand to Malaysia by train. The main travel route goes from Bangkok (Thailand) via Padang Besar (Malaysia) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

First travel by night train from Bangkok to Padang Besar. The journey time is 17 hours and train tickets are available from 900 THB (25 EUR). Padang Besar is the border station between Thailand and Malaysia.

You arrive by overnight train in the morning at Padang Besar where you change to a train to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The journey time is 6 hours and train tickets are available from 17 EUR.

TH Thailand - VN Vietnam

To travel from Thailand to Vietnam, there is no train connection available. You have to make use of one of the two following travel options.

Either use a flight from one of the big cities in Thailand to Vietnam. The flight time for the main route from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City is 1:30 hours and tickets are available from 50 EUR.

Or you travel by bus in two steps. First from Bangkok (Thailand) to Siem Reap (Cambodia). The journey time is 9 hours and bus tickets are available from 20 EUR. There you change in a second bus from Siem Reap (Cambodia) to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). The journey time is 9 hours and bus tickets are available from 25 EUR. Of course it makes sense to stay one or two nights in Siem Reap to visit the temple of Angkor Wat.
