Spain - Switzerland

Travel from Spain to Switzerland by train. Travel first from your departure railway station to Barcelona. From Barcelona you have three main travel routes to Switzerland: via Paris, via Lyon and via Geneva.

Usually you have to book two train tickets. Sometimes it is possible to book your hole journey just in one ticket. Just try.

1. One train ticket to travel from your departure railway station in Spain to Barcelona.

2. One train ticket from Barcelona to your travel destination in Switzerland. Calculate with a journey time of about 10 hours and ticket fares from 65 EUR.

Spain - Germany

To travel by train from Germany to Spain, the main route leads via Barcelona trough France to and on to your final travel destination in Germany.

Either buy one train ticket from Spain to Germany via the given booking websites. Or you split the booking into two tickets: Spain (Barcelona) to France (Paris) and France (Paris) to Germany. Maybe you need another ticket for travelling inside Spain, but this finally depends on your route.

Spain - France

To travel by train from Spain to France, use one of the direct high-speed-trains from Barcelona to Paris and southern France. First you travel in Spain to Barcelona. There you change to the trains to France.

Another option is to cross the border at Irun/Hendaye and to continue from there to your destination in France. In exceptional cases, your itinerary is via Latour de Carol.

Spain - Italy

To travel by train from Spain to Italy in one day is possible on the route Barcelona (Spain) to Milan (Italy).

A more relaxing way is to have an overnight stop in between, for example in Nice (France).

If you want to use a ferry, have a look at the connection from Barcelona (Spain) by overnight ferry to Civitavecchia (Italy) which is located one hour by train to Rome.

Spain - Morocco

To travel by train and ferry from Spain to Morocco, first travel by train to Algeciras. There you change to the ferry to Tangier Med. The journey time is about 90 minutes. Ferry tickets start from 30 EUR.

In Tangier Med (port of Tangier) take the bus to Tangier Ville (the railway station of Tangier). The bus runs between 06:00 and 22:00 and is free to use with your ferry ticket.

From Tangier Ville continue by train your journey to your final destination in Morocco.

To travel by train from Spain to Monaco, you first travel by train to Barcelona. From Barcelona (Spain) you continue by direct train to Marseille (France). Where you change to a train in direction of Nice and Monaco.

Spain - Portugal

There are only two rail links between Spain and Portugal: the night trains from Madrid and Irun to Lisbon and the "Celta" trains in the north from Vigo to Porto. There is no rail connection in the south. When travelling between Sevilla to Faro we recommend to take the direct bus instead.
