Be prepared to pay a lot for some of the scenic routes in Switzerland, as many of the rail lines are owned by private companies. The Interrail pass got me to Interlaken from Basel for nothing but from Interlaken to Grindelwald - 30 minutes - was more than 15 Euros. The line from Grindelwald up to Kleine Scheidig was 20 Euros for a 30 minutes journey. Brig to Zermatt is also very expensive. You can find maps on the net which will show you which lines in Switzerland are private and which are state-owned.You can also look at the site for a list of discounts in Switzerland. The good news is that the state-owned trains are excellent, fast, frequent and free with the Interrail pass. And many of them go through scenic areas.
Have a great trip.
