Paris has six train stations (all terminal stations).
The train station "Gare d'Est" is located in the north-east of the city,
in the 10th District (Arrondissement).
Here all trains arrive and leave from/to the east, including from Germany and Switzerland. Trains operate for example to and from Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Zurich.
The "Gare d'Est" was for me the beginning and end of my 10 day stay in Paris.

By bus number 65 from Gare de l'Est (Bus RATP) in direction of Gare de Lyon. Exit at: Gare de Lyon - Diderot. OR: walk to Gare du Nord - RER (max. 10 minutes - easy to walk). Gare du Nord - RER - Ligne D - direction Melun. Exit Gare de Lyon (Banlieue). Ticket is usually already sold in the high-speed-train to Paris.

A short footwalk of max 15 minutes. The way is signed. Leave Gare de l'Est on the right coming from the platform.

Métro Ligne 5 - direction Place d'Italie. Exit at Republique. Métro Ligne 3 - in direction Gallieni (Parc de Bagnolet). Exit Gallieni (Parc De Bagnolet). Tickets are usually already sold in the high-speed-train to Paris.

Use Metro line 5 in direction of Place d'Italie. Exit at Gare d'Austerlitz. The Metro ticket is usually already sold in the high-speed-train to Paris.
