Youth Hostel Leipzig

Jugendherberge Leipzig

The youth hostel of Leipzig is located in the Schönefeld district (about 3 km outside of the city center). A bus stop is about 200 meters away from the hostel. - 170 in 57 rooms with two to five beds - 19 x 2-bed rooms including 1 with shower / WC - 14 x 3-bed room with shower / WC - 18 multi-bed rooms We were three (two female friends and I) and and got a room with shower / WC. The stay was okay. Next time I will try to find something closer to the city center. But the price will decide as here it is inexpensive in the youth hostel. *** Important Note *** In Germany you need a membership in the Youth Hostel Association to be allowed to stay here in the hostel.

Victor-s Residenz Hotel Leipzig

Super central location. Straight left hand of the main station, ideal for rail travelers. You just have to cross the ring road and you get directly to the city center. 4 stars Great building with Art Nouveau façade. At the reception we were greeted so nicely - I think that did not happened to me anywhere else. I had many nice greetings at hotels, but here I felt really exceptional. It was offered to us on arrival a hot drink and a coupon for a sweet surprise that you could redeem at the bar. Rooms are available from 15:00h. On departure they evacuate to 11:00h. Breakfast is served from 06:30 to 10:00h (weekdays) and 07:00 to 10:30h (on the weekend). You can - for a fee of EUR 3.50 - take the room service. This service is offered from 06:30 to 22:30h. Note: The hotel (building and room) are great. Breakfast I've seen already better ones. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Honestly, I've seen better ones. What I found very strange is that you have to pay extra for some additional things like certain eggs - I've never seen something like this before. The bar is open from 11:00 to 01:00h. In the bar we were short, to the evening to drink an espresso. With 2.50 EUR is already in the upper price segment. In the restaurants "Victors Restaurant" and "Victor's Stube" you are served between 11:00 and 23:00h. We couldn't use the restaurants due to lack of time but we read that there are special offers available. Victors Business dish (main course + starter or dessert) Mon to Fri from 11:00h in the restaurant and afternoon coffee breaks a 5,00 EUR The prices in the minibar I found normal, but partly also overpriced - a 0.2 bottle of wine for more than 8 EUR ... wow! Other features that I liked very much: * They suggest a jogging trail. In the reception area there is the Victors jogging card to take home with a jogging path and refreshing water (Unfortunately, I could see and test the jogging track due to our lack of time and the snow chaoses in December) * Apples are available for customers for free. * In the room I found a shoe cleaning glove. I liked it. There is also a polishing machine (in the basement) The shoe cleaning glove is a really useful utensil, especially in winter weather - snow! * On request you get crushed ice served to your room. * Good-night thoughts are ready to read: "Die Kunst des Gesprächs ist, alles zu berühren und nichts zu vertiefen" (Oskar Wilde) We wish you a good night and sweet dreams. A nice touch, I think. * The elevators are new and modern, but are styled to nostalgic what I liked enormously. * Those who are sensitive to noise might get a problem with the noise of the street. Better then to explicitly reserve a room facing the courtyard. I have a good sleep, the noise hasn't disturbed me in any way. * The wireless worked perfectly in my room. Very pleasing. Final conclusion: We felt comfortable!

McDreams Hotel Leipzig

During our stay in Leipzig in May 2014. We discovered a newly opened hotel (low budget). It is located in the Plagwitz district and is housed there on two floors in the Elsterpassage. The next time we stay in Leipzig, we will test it.
