no extra fees... as it is the website of the italian national railway company. for delivery and receiving the reservation just have a look on it as there are different options. :)

Hi Peter, it would be great to be able to book the supplements online!
However, I tried a few trains but I did not get the 'Global Pass' fare option.
Do you have to select something special on the site, or is the option only available for a small number of trains?

hi Hans ...
just give me an example. on the first step you search and select the conection you want. on the second you select the option GLOBAL PASS and then the type of seat/bed. it should work if free space is available. :)

Also if there are two persons travelling you cant select two fares i.e two global passes but u can select 2 passengers and there is only space for one card number how would that work if both people wanted to travel??
would it just mean it was booked in one persons name but with two seats???

50€...for what kind of train?

The only 7-digit on my IR passes is my passport/ID number, however it is in the following pattern: A 1234567 1

The problem is I cant select the global fare to further help you. :|

it would be for the venice-paris night train (ARTESIA)

If you fill in the departure and arrival destinations it'll let you move to next stage

Thats the problem i got is that UK passport numbers are 9 digits long

however on the ticket itself there is a highlighted section at the bottom with 10 digits the first 3 are zero's then *******
maybe that is the thing they want??

Maybe Peter might be able to shed some light

Cheers guys

That's funny, it works now all fine.

The price is right for a six-bed couchette is 25€ per person, that should be fine.

Cant tell anything about the number though.

Hi Peter,

Today it worked, I selected an Artestia train from Paris to Milano and could select the Global Pass fare.

I noticed a different problem: for this train I can only select the Home Delivery option, but Trenitalia does not deliver to addresses outside Italy. Ticketless options (e-tickets) can not be selected.

When travelling the other way around, you can use the self-service option and pick up the ticket at a self-service machine.

I had the same problem like you ... maybe they will optimize the system the next months. we hope so... we should open up a topic for trenitalia software testers. ;)
but better this version they have than no online booking at all. let's say these online booking options will come as well on other railway companies next year... good for us travellers. :)

So what is the card number that it asks for??
is it the ten digit code printed on the Interrail ticket that is highlighted but take the 1st 3 zero's off???

Cant imagine that since the ten digit numbers on my passes dont have three zeros at the beginning.

I just mentioned it above ... it will take a while. if you are in a hurry, please ask directly at their website - as I am not the service support of Trenitalia.

Roma Tiburtina dep: 1250 (free regional train)
Pescara Centrale arr: 1655

Pescara Centrale dep: 1728 (free IC)
Bari Centrale arr: 2047

other connections are available.use the route planer [ux]http://plan.rail.cc[/ux] and search connections without HST

Hey Hey!
Got a question: on the trainitalia website, where they ask: card number it's a number of the interrail pass right?
And what about: Cartaviaggio code and the a Company code? these codes are in the interrail pass?

Just one more question. When we proceed with the reservation, they ask about the delivery, and says there: Self service not available at the departure station. (i'm travelling from Budapest to venezia) My question is, where can I get my reservation ticket then?

Thanks

hi...
if you have to pick it up, you can only do this in an Italian railway station. So not in Budapest...
and about the codes and numbers... we are all searching right now for an answer. ||
it will still need a bit of time...

Hey!

I read somewhere that those codes are like promotions and special cards from trenitalia. Do not need them to make reservation, they are options.
But I still don't get how am I suposse to get my reservation... cause I'm catching the train from Hungary to venezia, and in Budapest there is no self machine to get the tickets.

Does anyone know an email adress or a phone to contact trainitalia?

Thanks

Hi Peter,

I\'m trying to reserve the night train from Milan to Naples. I click the link below and select my train but at Fare 1 \'GLOBAL PASS\' is not an option. I\'ve also tried to reserve only on rail europe but don\'t get a global pass option there either. Is it possible to reserve anywhere other than at the station - I arrive in milan 2 hours before departure and want to book a couchette
:!: NEW: ITALY: BOOK supplements for NIGHT TRAINS online

Now you can book nearly all night trains, starting/ending/crossing Italy online.
Also reservations for day trains are available.

Do it this way:
1) Visit www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html
2) Fill in your travel data (departure, destination, time, date) - send
3) Select the train you want - continue
4) Fare 1 - Select your fare - chose: GLOBAL PASS
Journey preferences: select the type of cabin/bed/seat you want to book
5) Make the payment
Thanks in advance for your help! ;)

I think its for the one-country pass aswell but you cant book reservations on the site at the moment!!!

You have to book at a major station

Hi,

I just was on a trip to italy and used the One Country pass to travel there. I ran accross the same problem with the ticket mashines asking for my ticket number, after having spend 45 minutes with waiting to buy a supplement for the eurostar at a counter I decided to asked someone from trenitalia what this number is and where to find it.
So this is the solution to this problem: enter whatever number you want (for example I entered a zero) the ticket for the supplement will be valid anyway.
Seemingly the interrail tickets are handled the same way like abonement tickets online and at the ticket mashines and these have an number that clearly identifies them and needs to be on supplements for them, but of course the interrail tickets don't have such a 7 digit number.

hello peter,
Im trying to book a train from Venezia santa lucia to Nice City for the 30th of july.
Ive entered all of this information into the trenitalia website. It then comes up with routes however all of the trains have NA (not applicable) under the first and second classes.
18:36
VE S.L. 09:21
NICE VI 14:45 5911 NA NA
18:47
MESTRE 9748 FRECCIABIANCA
21:25
MI C.LE 2199
00:30
GE P.P. 6216
08:08
VENTIM. 6174
And when i tried to select this one for example, it says - we are sorry but the chosen solution is not purchasable

Hi.

You can only buy a reservation for DIRECT trains.
And only for trains WITHIN ITALY.
Except it is a DIRECT night train to a foreign country, which is not your case.

By the way you can do this journey by free trains for which you don't need supplements.

Hi,

So let me see if I got this right.

In the card number I enter whatever the number I wish? There is no problem about doing that?
