IR Iran TR Turkey

To travel from Iran to Turkey by train is not possible anymore. The direct train between Tehran and Ankara was withdrawn. As soon as it is available again, we will update this information.

Currently you first travel by train or bus to Tabriz (Iran).

In Tabriz you buy a ticket at the bus station to Van (Turkey). The journey time is about six hours, but add time for border controls. The company Didar Seir Gity runs a daily bus for about Euro 20.

From Van cross the lake to Tatvan by ferry.

There you take the night train "Vangölü Express" in direction of Ankara. The train runs twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday). Tickets available online on the website of Turkish railways TCDD from Euro 10. Journey time to Ankara is about 24 hours.
