how safe is travelling by train through Europe alone with two children?
And do written parental consent to travel with them?

There is nothing to worry about...?! :)

If you are travelling with your children you do not need any consent form; or do I misunderstand your question?
You might also look at the website of your ministry of foreign affairs for basic travel information for all EU countries.

I yes I meant written consent from their father. this seems to be an issue in Greece.
