I am planning to visit Switzerland from 26th April to 30th April from Netherlands and have already purchased a Swiss Travel Pass for the same.

I am planning for a trip in Glacier Express from Chur to Zermatt on 29th April.. But in the official website I can see the train is booked completely on that very day. Is there some way I can do the booking? As I will really feel letdown if I missed this opportunity, as I planned my entire trip for availing this trip.

Also I found an option to do reservation from Happy Rail for the same, but there is no option to book the day and choose the seat (option is there only to choose between high, mid or low season). Will this work?

Please help!!

Regards,
Soumyadeep

Hello Soumyadeep.
If reservations are sold out, travel with a regional train, which runs every hour. No reservation required, you can stop and get out everywhere you want. You can open the windows to take photos. Much better in my eyes! :)
Changes required (but very very easy as all very small stations) in Disentis/Muster, Andermatt and Visp.
Swiss Travel Pass available at [ux]https://rail.shop/swisstravelpass[/ux]

Hi!

As already mentionend - if the train is fully booked (on the official website), then it is fully booked and there is only a chance of cancellations that seats will become available again.

I would also recommend to travel on the same route as Glacier Express but with normal regional trains. These do not have the observation cars of Glacier Express but you wont travel with a zillion of other tourists but have the chance to meet some locals too; also, many trains on this route still have windows that can be opened so you can put your head outside and enjoy the fresh Swiss air. :)
