I am looking to travel by train with 2 cats from Sofia (Bulgaria) to Lisbon (Portugal), is it possible? How long time would it take?

Hi.
Usually you have to pay extra for pets.
Often it is allowed to take small animals with you in a box. Sometimes even for free.
But you have to check these rules for each train type you use in every country you travel.
Currently Covid limits some train connections. When do you want to travel?
The train route would be for example like this:
Sofia - Bucharest - Budapest - Munich - Strasbourg - Lyon - Barcelona - Madrid - Lisbon
And the journey time can be about 4 days with no break.
Maybe think about including ferries to limit the stress for the cats.
Sofia - Thessaloniki by train.
Thessaloniki to Igoumenitsa by bus.
Igoumenitsa to Ancona by ferry.
Ancona to Civitavecchia by train.
Civitavecchia (close to Rome) to Barcelona by ferry.
Barcelona to Madrid by train.
Madrid to Lisbon by night train.
