Good afternoon. I want to take the train from Russia to Barcelona. I live in the city of Chelyabinsk. 3 people travel (adult male and female and 11-year-old child). Please tell us how to get to Barcelona by train, with transfers to which cities you need to take tickets? And on what sites these tickets can be bought? Can I buy a single ticket for the entire period of travel in Europe? And what ticket is better to buy if the journey takes 3 weeks? Thank you in advance.

First Variant(journe time and price for 2020 years)
1. Chelyabinsk -> Moscow (direct train) -
time: 33-41 hrs in way;
time: seat place - from 2500 rub, third class sleep place(like shared bedroom in hostel) - from 4000 rub
2. Moscow-Paris(direct train)
time: near 30 hrs
price: from 22000 rub for second class sleep place( there are no seat and third class place )
3. Paris-Barcelona(direct train)
time: near 7 hrs
price: normal: from 170 eur for adult, from 102 eur for child from 4 to 11
special price: from 39 eur; non change, non refundable

If you want to save your money and have a lot of free time
1. Unreal variant
travel by suburban train without ticket(except border Belarussia->Poland), but it's really hard and uncomfortably
2. Use suburban train when you cross the border between Russia->Belarussia and Belarussia->Poland.
In this case:
1. Chelyabinsk -> Moscow without changes - see previously post
2. Moscow - Smolensk
time : 4-7 hrs,
price: from 350 rub for seat place, from 1356 rub for third class sleep place
if you do not want to sleep in Smolensk, use overnight train - it depart near 6:00 (6:00 AM)
2. Smolensk(RUS)->Orsha(BEL)
suburban train Smolensk -> Krasnoe
suburban train Krasnoe(Rus) -> Orsha(Bel). You must have belarussia currency
3. Orsha -> Brest
time: near 14 hrs
price: from 21 bel. rub
4. Brest(BEL) -> Terespol(Pol)
Suburban train.
time: 20 min
price: ????
5. Terespol->Warsawa
time: 3-4 hrs
price:34-49 zlt
6. Warszawa -> Francfurt/Oder
time: 5 - 10 hrs
price: ????
7. Frankfurt(Oder)(PL/GE) -> Kehl(GE)
time: 13-15 hrs
price: from 42 eur if you use lander ticket( term of use you can see in bahn.de )
8. Kehl(Ge) -> Strasbourg(FR)

night is Strasbourg
9. Strasbourg -> Paris
time: 3-7 hrs
price: ????, i think from 50 eur. But, maybe, you can use special tickets for regional train in France
