Reliability of D 341 Budapest to Belgrade

krasmussen @ 14-05-2016 11:41

Some years ago I used the D 341 from Budapest to Belgrade a couple of times, and we always arrived late in Belgrade.
Do anyone have informations about the reliability present? Will people here consider it safe to use D 341 and plan for connection with the day-service to Bar (431)? According to the timetable there will be 2:49 h to transfer - but is this enough? Time of travel will be July 2016

Kind regards

Kim, Denmark

Hi Kim,

I'd consider that a safe connection under normal circumstances. Punctuality north of Belgrade is quite ok from what I've read and experienced.
For first hand information maybe contact JohnnySrb or ShoRa
Do you know the exact date yet - on Tu, Th and Fr there are through coaches from Prague and Moscow to Bar in this connection.

Interesting information - du you know anything about price for the direct cars.
I was thinking of using the Belgrade Special at 15 €, and then 21€ for Belgrade-Bar.
I know there is a Montenegro Special, but as far as I can see this is only for return between any station in Montenegro and Budapest...

So if you know anything regarding price for the whole section, pls. advise

The reservation prices for the Prague - Budapest - Bar coaches is 9,40€/14€ in a couchette (facultative coach), in a sleeper prices are 18,20€/27,30€/63,70€. However, last year bookings were only possible in Czech Republic in combination with a ticket. I dont know (yet) if that has changed this year.

The RZD sleeping car Moscow - Budapest - Bar can be used only with Interrail plus reservation or with a global fare ticket, a combination of regular tickets (eg Montenegro Special) plus reservation is officially not allowed. However I have read that such a combination was accepted on the Moscow - Budapest - Sofia sleeping car operated by RZD.

Montenegro Special is a return ticket but can be used for one-way travel too - but you will be cheaper off if you split in Belgrade.

Budapest - Bar one way in a 4bed RZD sleeping car is 67,50€ I think.
