hello,
in the europe in a shoestring guide it mentions a trainservice ploce- budapest, but on searching bahn hafas etc this route doesn't seem to be running.
anyone?

hej ...
there is no direct train. you first travel from [b]Ploče to Zagreb[/b] by day train (no supplements) and then you jump on the night-train from Venice to Budapest. for more details: [u]https://rail.cc/en/venice-budapest-night-train/f1487[/u]
but you have to spent nearly the whole night at the station in Zagreb.

a better option: travel by bus from Ploče to Split (not more than 2 hours - a lot of buses on this route - just go to the mains bus station in Ploče) and then use the direct night train Split to Budapest !! :)

can't see a direct train? it goes via zagreb? looking on bahn hafas.

mmh... it depends on the date... the connection I am talking about is only running until the beginning (the 10th or 14th I am not sure) of September.
later in September an autumn you have only connections via Zagreb ...
