We ( husband and wife ) want to take a private sleeper car from Wien to Venice on 12/4 /19 and return the same way on 16/4/19
1. Do we ask for two beds or one ? ( It is unclear how wide a single bed is )
2. Does OBB give a price discount for a round trip ticket ? ( The OBB web site is unclear about this question )

Hi Donaldduck,

1. You book two beds in a double sleeper compartment, either deluxe (with private sink, shower and toilet) or not (private sink, shared shower and toilet with other passengers). The way you ask the questions leads me to believe that you might have slightly higher expectations than what you will find. ÖBB night trains aren\'t hotels on wheels or rail cruises, they are regular trains used by everyday, regular folks from all walks of life for quotidian purposes. They are clean, safe and comfortable, but not luxurious. The beds are large enough for one person to sleep in, and that\'s about it. Your compartment will be large enough for both of you stand, sit, or lie down, not larger.

2. There are no discounts for the return journey, however, prices will increase the closer you get to the date of travel, so it\'s worth it to book early.

I\'ve you are unsure about how to use their website, you can always make the bookings over the phone at 0043 5 1717.

Have a nice trip!

Hi and welcome.
And in addition to the information of Quenzon, have a look at this blog post. It is the same type of train, only on another route (Munich to Rome instead of Vienna to Venice). There you find photos of the different compartment types. In your case I recommend a sleeper. It is private - and you can also book one with private toilet and shower included.

Also have a look at the video bellow.
