Are there many places that would require night shoes - i.e. not sandals/flip-flops and not trainers (e.g. converse or casual not Nike)?
I'm thinking of clubs in Germany, Poland and restraunts in say Paris??
Any suggestions?

depends on the club, the night, and the city. There will certainly be clubs in those cities that wont let you in with white trainers, jeans or no shirt. Likewise there will be places that will, ask around when you get there

like SiDUDe said... it depends on the city, club and restaurant... it is in every big city the same. a good way is to ask the staff in the hostel you sleep. they will know a lot of nice locations to go out at night as most of them are young. :)
