We're travelling with a global pass, our last day of travel is the 9th of march. We're Danish, so we need to return to Denmark before then...but do we have to be back in Denmark before midnight, or can we use a night train that arrives in DK on the morning of the 10th?

You have to be home before midnight. But remember that your interrail pass only get u 50% off on the ticket from the danish border to your home.
