INLANDSBANAN - Gällivare, Östersund, Mora, Kristinehamn

By the Inlandsbanan trough the nature of Sweden on the route Gällivare, Östersund, Mora, Kristinehamn

No reservation is required for Interrail and Eurail pass travellers. Sometimes a reservation makes sense as bigger travel groups use the Inlandsbanan for a small trip.
Reservation fee is EUR 5,50 (SEK 50).
Important: the Inlandsbanan is running only in the summer months.

https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route gives you all the route info

but there's 3 trains a day from gällivare to luleå taking just under 2 and a half hours and i read on this forum that there's a free bus from luleå to haparanda

At the Inlandsbanan website, they say Eurail and InterRail tickets are valid on Inlandsbanan. Does this mean that the Interrail Pass is also valid on the stretch Mora-Kristinehamn? It's not that clear, because this is a bus journey, but is part of the Inlandsbanan.

Thanks,
Leen

Hi Leen,

yes it is also valid on the bus. A reservation is 50 SEK...I never travelled this part of the route (only Östersund - Gällivare) but I would recommend to get a reservation just to be sure you wont be left behind in case it is a busy day.

That sounds really great! but how do you get up to Gällivare first?? do you take the same route twice???
Or shall one take another way up three?
