Hello,
Just a quick thing. We're leaving for 30 days on August 25th and are presuming that hostels should be o.k. to book a day in advance. Are we presuming alright, or will hostels in popular places (Kreuzberg/ Budapest for example) still be rammed?
Cheers

hej ... it is a good time for interrailing ... one to two days in advance will in most cases be enough !!
to get the real good hostels, a reservation of one week in advance is still recommended at the end of August ! :)

some staff were very friendly while others were grumpy old men, the breakfast was appaling compared to most other hostels, i got a roll and a cup of cornflakes, great....not. the location was good, but it was very hard to find. the rooms were appaling with bugs in the beds and dirty sheets, floors were unclean and the rest of the hostel was very shappy, out of 10 i would rate it about 2, o any u get ripped off left right and centre
