Possibly a silly question but...
If me and my bf were to book a three bedroom private room via hostel world selecting there were two guests in the booking, would we be expected to pay for the third bed or is that bed filled by someone else who pays themselves?

Hi.
In hostels you pay per bed. So the room will be filled up with a third person. But in most cases it won't, when not travelling in high season.
