Checking in to hostels at any time ?

I'm just wondering if check in in hostels is like Hostels or when it says 24 hour reception that means you can check in at any time??

If it says 24h reception there will be someone there all the time, but you may not be able to get to your room until it has been cleaned. Usually you can dump you bags somewhere until your bed is ready.
