Hello, on Monday 22nd of June I am planning on taking the train from Berlin to Amsterdam, from 04.30 at Berlin Hbf to 11.00 at Amsterdam Central. However at 06.18 there is a changeover at Hannover Hbf that is 22 minutes until the train to Amsterdam leaves at 06.40. Does anyone know a) which platform the trains may be at or how a could find that out, as it isn't on the Trainline UK website, or the bahn website and b) if the 22 minute changeover time is enough time to get on the next train. Thank you very much in advance for your help,

Darren

Oh come on-do you really have to know that NOW? Eeven those times will/may change its simply too far ahead. In ANY german station are large screens which list all trains the next hour and the tracks/platforms etc-learn to use how it all works, compared with that the UK is a backward child. You will have plenty of time and also: B-H has trains ev 30 mins or so and H-AMS direct ev 2 hrs-many more with changes on the way. The nice thing of IR is that you are not tied to trains at such ungodly hours and can choose what you want, here you also do not need to even reserve seats (though at busy times this also means you may have to stand a while). You can even buy the famous 99 ct cf at the HammHamm at the end of the passageway under all the tracks. IF you stay a little longer-there is a LIDL with normal german prices also in the basement and a Kaufland on the north station forecourt with the busstation.

Hi Darren!

Normally both the ICE from Berlin as well as the IC to Amsterdam arrive/depart from platform 11 in Hannover; so you dont even have to change platforms.
Anyway, 22 minutes to change trains would be easily enough. In case of a delay of the ICE from Berlin, ask the conductor if the assigned platforms change and/or check the announcements and screens on the platform.
You can also check the actual platforms on your day of travel on the schedule planner of DB at plan.rail.cc/
