Hi. We are trying to book advance rail tickets from Athens to Thessaloniki, when we put in our date of travel, no timetable choice comes up. all the September dates are there, but no October dates. please help

It is likely that there will be a small update to the timetable from October and that the online schedule (and booking options) has not been updated yet.
Your only option is to monitor the website https://rail.shop/ose and check whether booking is available on a (roughly) daily basis. Anyway, you do not need to worry - trains wont be fully booked (at least not until the day of departure) and you could also get your ticket locally at a ticket office.
