I am just wondering if I have to reserve the ticket from Hamburg to Copenhagen with my Eurail pass.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome.

If you travel by the direct EC train including the "train on ferry" via the Fehmarnbelt, you will need one. This route is special, as only three connections left in Europe where the full train goes on a ferry. After crossing the sea the train leaves the ferry and continues its journey.
The reservation is about Euro 4 and you can buy it online on [ux]https://rail.shop/dsb/reservation[/ux]
Until 10 June 2018 there are construction works on the Danish part of this route- Therefore the train is replaced by a bus from Roedby to Copenhagen, which is of course also included in your Eurail pass. No extra reservation required.

If you travel via "Fredericia" (Denmark) with changes , you do not need a reservation. But it is recommended.

Please read the blog of Wouter where he explains everything about the route Hamburg to Copenhagen, including photos: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/hamburg-copenhagen-train/[/ux]

If you like the free content on rail.cc, please support it. Buy your Eurail pass via our partner link at no extra costs for you [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] , but you directly support our work. Thank you! :)

Please note if you go via Fredericia during summer (29/6-26/8) and use a direct train then a reservation is also compulsory.
Non-direct trains and outside the summer reservation is only recommended.

Well sorry for the smiley, I did like to write 29 June to 26 August.
