Booking a flight straight to Barcelona is the easiest option to get there from Brussels, but also the most polluting way to travel. How can I get there by train without spending several days on the train and without spending a lot of money? Thanks for you help.

Hello and welcome to rail.cc

There are connections available with a journey time of about 9 hours in total. Most of them with a change in Paris where you will have to change the stations and use the metro. It takes about 30 minutes to change the stations.
If you want to avoid the change in Paris and the metro, travel via Lyon, also with a journey time of about 9 hours.
The ticket prices depends on the day you travel and may vary a lot. If you have luck, you will find 2nd class tickets for about 100 Euro and first class tickets from about 150 Euro.
Please have a look on [ux]https://rail.shop/omio/brussels/barcelona[/ux] where you will find these connections including schedules and exact ticket prices and of course the option to book them.

Have a nice trip and if you have further questions, please let me know! :)

Pete :)

Hi,

if you are on a really tight budget and/or want to travel on a night train, you can also do the following:

1. Travel from Brussels to Paris by low-cost train "Izy": https://www.izy.com/ (tickets from 19 Euros)
2. Travel by overnight train from Paris to Latour de Carol: https://rail.shop/omio (tickets from 20 Euros, couchettes available for a little more)
3. Travel from Latour de Carol to Barcelona by Rodalies de Catalunya commuter train (always 12 Euros, no online tickets, tickets can be bought from the conductor onboard the train).

One-way therefore costs from 51 Euros upwards. You\'ll get the cheapest fares if you book well in advance.

Have a nice trip, Quenzon
