There are vouchers: 10% off the booking of a Flixtrain ticket - for all friends of rail.cc. We have 5000 discount promo codes to give - so make sure you get yours! This promotion runs until May 2020. If all of them are already given away before then, our promotion is immediately over. You can use the code to book your ride throughout 2020.

How this works, I explain here in my blog post. In addition to that, I'll explain how a Flixtrain looks like, how to book a Flixtrain ticket (in a step-by-step guide), as well as the current route network of Flixtrain in 2020. Have fun reading and booking! :)

Redeem voucher and book your Flixtrain ticket

Continue now on the Flixtrain page. Choose your desired connection. In my case I travel from Berlin to Mannheim in the afternoon train.

After selecting your ticket, you can also enter your discount code (on the right side of the booking screen) and the price will be updated.

I personally always reserve a seat for myself, which costs 3,50 Euro extra. This saves me "stress" and I can get on board relaxed. The Flixtrain page shows you a nice overview of all available seats.

Then you pay with one of the many options.

You will receive your ticket directly on the screen for printing or saving. When you check your ticket on the train, your QR code will be scanned - no matter if it is on a paper printout or on your mobile phone or laptop screen. You will also receive an e-mail with your ticket and all information about your departure station. And optionally also an invoice.

The ride on the Flixtrain

Anyone who can still remember the Interregio coaches of Deutsche Bahn from the 1990s immediately has an image in their mind. But there are also other types of carriages. Most of them are already beautifully renovated! I like them.

I have already published here in the blog a report about a trip from Stuttgart to Berlin. Not quite up to date anymore, but hopefully still worth reading so that you can get an impression. For the optical impression here are some more photos.

Stay overnight in Berlin

As I am often in Berlin, sometimes with Flixtrain, I have already found my favourite hotel. For me, of course, as a train travel friend directly at the main station, the Intercity Hotel. With your hotel booking there you will also receive a ticket with which you can use Berlin's public transport free of charge.
