The Augustinerplatz is one of the central squares of the old town of Freiburg. Surrounded by the Augustinian Museum and the remnants of the former city wall, you can sit down here and enjoy the summer nights. Of course very nice as well during the day. If it gets too hot, you can dangle your feet in the small stream and cool your beer there. :)
Schauinsland
Schauinsland is a 1200m high mountain and perfectly for hiking - in summer and winter! Approach: 1. Take the train from Freiburg to Kirchzarten (every hour at X.40h) and change in Kirchzarten for the bus to Todtnau. After half an hour you can leave the bus for example in "Haldenhof" 2. Take the cable car in Horben. Therefore you might start in Freiburg taking the tramway line 2 to Günterstal. Here you can go on with busline 21 to Horben.
