Intercity Benelux services connect Amsterdam and Bruxelles via Den Haag, Rotterdam and Antwerpen every hour. Unlike the high speed Thalys trains they travel on the the conventional lines, resulting in longer travel times. On the plus side, tickets can be considerably cheaper. IC Benelux trains consist of refurbished Intercity coaches of NS (Dutch Railways) powered by SNCB (Belgian Railways) locos, the trains being run in cooperation of the two companies. They have 2nd and 2st class open-plan carriages with air-condition.
